At a time when transgender people are struggling to find dignified employment, an intersex trans woman from the city has landed a prestigious job with the Central government.

Ganga Bhavani, 32, was born in Anantapur with neither male nor female reproductive organs, and decided to identify herself as a woman at the age of 14, against the wishes of her family.

On Tuesday, Ganga landed the job of a researcher at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (NIRD), an autonomous organisation based in Rajendranagar here and functioning under the aegis of the Union Ministry of Rural Development.

This once again proves that there is a scope for every to surge ahead. They should not demean themselves. Congrats to Ganga Bhavani.
